The vineyard at Quinta das Vinhas was planted as an experimental vineyard by the Madeira Wine Institute in the 70's. It has over 70 different grape varieties and is a true living library.

OUR WINE
In May 2023, in partnership with Justino's winehouse, we launched our first wine.
It is the first organic tablewine produced in Madeira and it is made with 100% verdelho grapes from Quinta das Vinhas.
Fanal is the name of the natural forest in Madeira and fits the wine very well as it is organic and very natural, with no inoculation and no oenological intervention.
The production is very small (1980 bottles) and the wine is mineral on the nose, with white and tropical fruit that reminds us of melon-pear. It has a saline quality that teases the taste buds and leaves you wanting more.
This white wine is especially recommended as an aperitif or to accompany fish dishes, salads, seafood and white meat.
The wine is available to drink at our restaurant Bago.
